ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of heat-clearing, dampness-removing, and Qi-blood-tonifying Chinese herbal medicine compound for the treatment of recurrent genital herpes(RGH), and to investigate the expression levels of Th17 cells and Treg cells in peripheral blood of patients with RGH as well as their role in the pathogenesis of RGH. Methods Sixty RGH patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with Chinese medicine decoction, and the control group was treated with Aciclovir tablets orally. The treatment course covered 6 months. The percentages of Th17 cells and Treg cells in the peripheral blood of the RGH patients were detected with flow cytometry. Results (1) After treatment for 3, 6 months, the total effective rate of the experimental group was 53.33%, 80.00%, and that of the control group was 23.33%, 46.67% respectively. There were significant difference between the two groups(P 0.05). The inter-group comparison showed the decrease of Th17 cell percentage and Th17/Treg cell ratio as well as the increase of Treg cell percentage in the experimental group was superior to that in the control group, the differences being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The curative effect of Chinese herbal compound for RGH is better than that of the control group. Chinese herbal medicine compound can decrease the level of Th17 cells, increase the level of Treg cells, thus to decrease the ratio of Th17/Treg cells, indicating that heat-clearing, dampness-removing, and Qi-blood-tonifying Chinese herbal medicine compound can correct the imbalance of Th17/Treg cells, and then plays a role in anti-inflammation and immune regulation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish a method for identification and quality control of Rhizoma Acori Talarinowii. Methods The medicinal herb of Rhizoma Aeori Talarinowii was identified by its origin and TLC. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to determine the content of β-asarone in Rhizoma Acori Talarinowii. Results The results of TLC showed that there were some spots with the same color in the position having the same relative retention time between the tested medici-hal material and the control. The results of HPLC showed that a good iinearity was in the range of 0. 1~0. 6 βg, the regression equation was Y=37158. 2X-589. 5(r=0. 999 7), and the average recovery was 96. 78 % (RSD=0. 95 %). Conclusion The method is simple and reproducible, and can be used for the quality control of Rhizoma Acori Talarinowii.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of ginger-partitioned moxibustion for alopecia areata (AA).Methods Sixty-five AA patients were randomized into the treatment group(N = 40)and the control group(N = 25).The treatment group received ginger-partitioned moxibustion on AA focus combined with oral use of Shengfa Decoction(mainly composed of Radix Polygoni Muhiflori,Radix Rehmanniae Preparata,Fruetus Moil, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi,Semen Cuseutae,Radix Angelicae Sinensis,Radix Paeoniae Alba,Rhizoma Gastrodiae, Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae,Poria,Radix Astragali,etc.).The control group received oral use of Shengfa Decoctoion only. The hair growth in AA focus was observed after treatment for 2 weeks,1 month,2 months and 3 months. Results In the treatment group,24 patients cured,9 markedly effective,6 effective,1 ineffective and the total effective rate was 97.5%;in the control group,5 patients cured, 5 markedly effective,9 effective,6 ineffective and the total effective rate was 76.0%.The therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P

ABSTRACT

0.05).However,the effect on decreasing mean yearly incidence of RRTI and duration of each onset in group A was superior to that in group B(P0.05).【Conclusion】JY can reduce the mean yearly incidence of RRTI and duration of each onset in preschool children with RRTI,and its mechanism may be related to the regualtion of cellular immune function by improving the parameters of subgroups of T lymphocytes.

ABSTRACT

【Objective】To observe the effect of Yiyiren Gancao Tang (YGT) in preventing the recurrence of condylomaacuminatum (CA) after microwave therapy and to explore its influence on relative immunological indexes. 【Methods】Sixty-eight cases of CA were randomized into two groups: 34 cases (Group A) were treated with YGT and other 34 withplacebo decoction (Group B) after microwave therapy. The recurrence rate in the two groups were observed; seruminterleukin-2 (IL- 2) level and subtypes of T lymphocyte counting in peripheral blood were detected with double antibodysandwich immunoassay and rosette formation test before and after treatment.【Results】The recurrence rate was 20.5% inGroup A and 47.0% in Group B (P.05).【Conclusion】YGT can reduce the recurrence of CA, improve the immune function and is practical in clinics.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of oral use and external application of Chinese herbal decoction for the treatment of recurrent condyloma acuminatum(RCA).Methods One hundred and twenty-eight RCA patients were divided into two groups by half randomization and single blind method. The treatment group(N=65) received oral use of Yiyiren Gancao Decoction and washing the lesion with self-made Xiaoyou Decoction once a day except the microwave radiation therapy. The control group(N=63) received microwave radiation therapy alone. One month constituted one treatment course. The recurrence of RCA in the two groups was investigated within 3 treatment courses and within 6 months of follow-up.Results In the treatment groups, there were 37(56.92%) recurrent patients during the 1st treatment course,25(38.46%) during the 2nd course, and 11(16.92%) during the 3rd course;in the control group, there were 52(82.54%) recurrent patients during the 1st treatment course,47(74.60%) during the 2nd course, and 36(57.14%) during the 3rd course. The recurrence rate in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P
